About Au-Chemi

Made with a UK-patented plating process (GB2596354).

Close-up portrait of a woman with golden makeup and metallic gold nails, wearing gold hoop earrings.

Au-Chemi takes its name from alchemy: Au, the chemical symbol for gold, and chemistry.

We started with a simple question. Why should fine jewellery stop at your rings and earrings? The answer is a press-on nail finished in real gold plating, made to be worn, removed and worn again.

Our launch collection is yellow gold-plated, in 14ct, 18ct and 24ct. Plated finish, not solid gold.

How each set is made

Each nail is built up in layers. A conductive layer is applied first, then a copper base is electroformed, then a palladium barrier layer (used instead of nickel), and finally the gold plate on top. Each set is polished and inspected by hand.

Made using a UK-patented process (GB2596354), owned by our founder, Makango Malondji.
